A disappointing night for Jack Nation and the entire House of Khan team. It's a couple of hours after the show and you can see Jack Nation walking towards the arena's exit. He wears a butterfly bandage over the cuts he sustained during his fight tonight. A large bruise is evident around his left eye.
He is dressed in a pair of black slacks, shined up black dress shoes, and a light gray dress shirt tucked into his trousers. All this pales in comparison to the look of anguish Jack wears on his beat up face. At this time all the former champion wants is to be alone, but as he opens the door to the arena, a crowd of about 10 reporters greets him.
Reporter: "Jack, may we trouble you for a couple of minutes?"
Jack looks around biting back tears before nodding his head.
Reporter: "Are you going to try for an immediate rematch against Christian Ibanez?"
Jack: "No. I lost. There are other contenders above me. Clive Hicks should be the next to challenge Christian Ibanez...not me."
Reporter: "You fought a smart fight tonight. is there anything about Christian Ibanez that surprised you?"
Jack clears his throat.
Jack: "His takedown defense surprised me. I underestimated it... I underestimated him... It cost me the title."
Jack Nation let's out a long sigh.
Reporter: "How did you feel when you realized that you had lost?"
Jack looks at the lady for a moment.
Jack: "It took a moment to comprehend what happened. Right now I'm just… in disbelief... I'm devastated."
Jack takes a moment to calm himself down.
Jack: "I'm happy for Christian Ibanez though. He's a hard worker, a good fighter, and a very nice guy."
Jack nods towards one female reporter who seems to have a question.
Reporter: "I know it's a little soon, but do you have any plans for the future? Are you going to be out a while or are you looking to get back in there?"
Jack slowly shakes his head.
Jack: "Right now I don't know. I've had more years of combat sports experience than I care to admit, and I have won titles in all the combat sports I've competed in. That's pro wrestling, grappling competitions, and now MMA. I've had a long career, but I just don't know. If everybody will excuse me…"
Jack leaves the area as some of the reporters applaud.
