If you're an avid MMA fan, this would come as no surprise to you, but Gaia Galanos has already returned to training. Some fighters will take a break after a title loss, but she has no intention of a rematch with Misty DeMeans anytime soon. In fact, Gaia Galanos didn't even necessarily give us a name. She just knows that defeating her is pretty damn valuable. She's not wrong either because the only other internationally-renowned fighter, Anaquin Adams, has fallen to Gaia Galanos in the Global octagon. While Galanos certainly looked down on herself walking out of the empty arena Friday night, she seemed to bounce back fairly well as she worked on her circuits over video chat with us.
On Her Recent Loss & Motivation Moving Forward:
“Misty and I were going back and forth for the two rounds. At some point, she completely took over. I can whine about the cut and bleed loss all I want, but she had me beat out there. I apologize to all of my fans, and congratulations to the new Featherweight Champion, Misty DeMeans. This isn’t a time for me to sit back and take a break. There are still many fights I need to have in this division. Just because I don’t have the strap doesn’t mean I can’t continue to own it. I can still dominate, and I will. Being a former Global Featherweight Champion I know I have a target on my back. I can make any one of those girls famous. So, whoever wants their ass beaten, step forward.”
It would seem as though GCC owner Fazan Khan has taken Gaia's demands very seriously as he is already searching for her next opponent. When asked to comment about any plans for her moving forward with regards to opponents, Galanos told us she didn't have a preference on her next fight, but she could name a few that are on her dream list. When asked to elaborate, Gaia declined to comment.
