HILITE FC drama - DeMeans on the outs?
Sources have confirmed that there has plenty of drama behind the scenes between members of HILITE FC. Rumor has it that after former GCC lightweight champion Sergiy Revenko suffered a knockout loss against journeyman Manu, Misty was furious. Word has it that since Misty has taken over as the lead trainer at HILITE FC she has been under pressure from HILITE FC owner James Raven and other long term gym members due to the teams less than spectacular performances as of late.
Wolf Pack MMA - The Birth
A new gym out of Romania called Wolf Pack has emerged with several promising fighters signing multi-fight deal with the GCC. Word has it that the gym used to be the breeding ground for local street brawlers. The gym was prominently known for striking led by Romanian boxing legend and former WBA Lightweight champion Leonard Doroftei. However due to the rise in popularity of MMA globally a new generation of talent and leadership has emerged and they have recently expanded their BJJ and wrestling training in order to get rid of their (and I quote) "bunch of thugs" stink.
Tundra MMA - a man down?
I have received confirmation from inside sources that Paul Felder who is set to make his GCC debut at GFN 11 was abruptly kicked out of camp with just a week to go! This is sure to put him at a huge disadvantage as it appears he now has nobody to corner him during his fight against Ambrus Themis!
GUF TRADE
Yesterday it was announced on @Global_champ twitter that a GUF trade was made which saw Paul Rossi/Tundra MMA's Jacob Klein and Danny Cross get traded to Team Jack Nation for Esteban Garcia and Nikoli Volkov. Notably, Paul Rossi offloaded two of their lowest picks in the trade and as a result are giving their rights away for the first fight pick of the season. This means that at the #GUF1 premiere Jack Nation will choose the first match of the season and will retain control of the match making provided they win the first fight.
A supreme signing?
Global Combat Championships has never been known for cross promoting with any other mma federations and this appears to be the case with Supreme MMA as well. Reports have it that President Khan is fully prepared to enter an aggressive bidding war to sign his granddaughter Sunni Khan who is currently the women's featherweight champion. Although Mr. Khan has refused to comment on the subject, Sunni Khan was ousted from the House of Khan for pursuing fights before her team felt she was ready. Now that it appears that Sunni Khan is more than capable of fighting, The House of Khan lead by her cousin Rupika Khan has been vouching for her signing however it is unclear if the Supreme MMA featherweight champion is considering a move.
Sophie Anderson - retirement?
It appears that a featherweight is on her way out. Sophie Anderson has lost the last 3 of her four fights after initially captivating the fan base with a vicious knockout of Kali Black at GFN 2. Reportedly, Sophie Anderson has mentally crumbled behind the scenes and has lost any and all confidence in her abilities. She is scheduled to fight Sanoh Ngam-Chit who is also on a 3 fight losing skid of her own.
Injury bug hits Splatterhouse
It appears that the upstart gym has had a few set backs as medical reports show that Da Eun Sin suffered a minor injury in her fight with Trixie Redd. Da Eun Sin is currently serving a 30 day medical suspension which will be reviewed at the completion of the suspension. Also this week in training, Akane Into reportedly suffered a injury in training and is also expected to be out of action for several weeks.
