One Step from Redemption

On February 12th, 2021, Aaliyah Almonte suffered a crushing and embarrassing loss by the hands of Mia Stevens. It was that loss that made her rethink her future in Global Combat Wrestling. She didn’t know if she belonged in the company and would be taken seriously. Aaliyah would then pack up her bags and leave the Tundra facility to head back to her hometown in New Orleans, Louisiana….

….Until it was Gaia Galanos that made the call to bring her back and get her back in the game.

Ever since that call, Aaliyah’s been a woman on a mission. With intense training, an intense mind set and a vicious new attitude, winning matches to get what she wanted was her goal, and has since February 12th. Let’s look at the road Double A had to take to possibly get what she finally wants.

  • Aaliyah faced off against Emma Styche, a match that went two rounds. It was one that Aaliyah was close to losing, but was able to pull out a Armbar submission hold to get the victory, going 3-2 for her record.

  • In a match that was personal for her, Aaliyah faced off against former Tundra stablemate, Kylie Moore. In this match, we saw Double A become a woman on a mission and unleashed that vicious side of her to win the match up.

  • Finally, with going three rounds in her toughest match to date, Aaliyah Almonte won over Elizabeth Devereaux, by unanimous decision. A win putting her one step closer.

Aaliyah has one match to go before finally reaching redemption. She wants Mia Stevens before possibly going for the Featherweight Championship. Will she get it? Will Khan sign off? Keep it locked to the Global Combat Championship on E-Fedder to find out.
