Recently, Global Combat Championships Chairman and House of Khan gym owner Fazan Khan announced that Gaia Galanos would be facing off with one of her own. Up until now, GCC has only ever seen rival gyms facing off in the Global octagon. This is a huge opportunity for both fighters. With the #1 Featherweight Ranking on her side, Gaia Galanos has a huge target on her back within the Featherweight Division. If you defeat her, you very may well find yourself standing across from the GCC Global Featherweight Champion in your next match.
We see what Alexia Amauri has to gain from this fight. She’s seemingly unknown coming into this fight despite some impressive Unanimous Decision wins granting her access to a strong 2-0 start within the Featherweight Division. Alexia seems to be primed to find out whether or not she can swim with one of the division’s most dangerous sharks. That states pretty clearly what Amauri is looking forward to if she wins this fight, but what about the former Global Champion?
This fight despite being a House of Khan Showcase presents an opportunity for Gaia Galanos to show she means exactly what she has said on social media and all along in interviews and press conferences.
Recently, the former champion has been claiming that she isn’t going to allow this COVID-19 scare deter her from the goal of dominating the Featherweight Division. It’s worth noting the woman who defeated Gaia Galanos for the Featherweight Crown has refused to fight for the time being. Some other fighters feel the same way as the champion unfortunately as House of Khan signs a fight against itself in what looks to be another potential Fight of the Night takeover by House of Khan.
This has all of the makings for a make-or-break for both of these Featherweight Contenders. Both women look primed to find themselves in the title conversation with a win in the main event of Global Fight Night 9. Another question which could be swirling on the minds of many is what does this mean for House of Khan in the Gym Rankings with a hot war being raged at the top between House of Khan and Hilite along other gyms which seem primed to sweep in for some time at the top of the Gym Power Rankings.
