On April 4th, Misty DeMeans was on top of the world. The very next day she locked herself in her house and has claimed that she has remained there ever since.

In what was initially believed to be an elaborate social media ploy to garner attention and to further stoke the flames surrounding a myriad of controversies, a legitimate concern among GCC top brass is starting to build and tensions are starting to reach new highs behind the scenes. Mockingly, the new GCC featherweight champion has tweeted daily about her time in quarantine keeping a diary of sorts. In many of these postings she has mocked fans, fellow fighters, rival promotions and has recently even targeted the Khan family themselves.
After the result of GFN 8 which saw her teammate Serigy Revenko lose his GCC lightweight championship VIA TKO to rival camp member, Rob Jones; Misty again took to social media where she unraveled after midnight ultimately declaring that GCC should shut down operations in line with other professional sport leagues like the NBA, NHL, MLB and futbol worldwide under the premise that HILITE FC fighters cannot train to the fullest of their abilities during the global pandemic. While we have not been able to reach Mr. Khan himself on this subject, a spokesperson for GCC had confirmed that several calls had been made by GCC staff in order to set up a new bout that would see Misty DeMeans defend her title in a blockbuster match up but that the calls were ignored and then blocked. Although Misty has not officially informed Global Combat Championships that she is unwilling to fight under any circumstance, they have every right to take her threats made on social media seriously.
DAMNED IF YOU DO, DAMNED IF YOU DON'T.
The question is if Misty DeMeans refuses to fight at what point does President Khan step in? Things could be very tricky, however. With the global pandemic at hand, Misty has placed GCC officials in a tight spot. With millions of Americans under quarantine and billions more world wide regulated to the confines of their homes the bad press that GCC could receive for forcing one of their employees to fight under these circumstances could very well be a PR disaster. At the same time when the entire world hates you and wants you to lose, how much damage could it really do to the GCC brand to throw her into a cage against her will?
It's a tricky situation and one that President Khan will surely tread carefully upon.
