GUF HOUSE #TeamRossi
Tanner Mcklesson apologizes to Esteban Garcia for a sparring
incident the previous week during training. He admits to Garcia that
being eliminated the way he was left him with a chip on his shoulder
and that it wasn't the right move. He tells Garcia that he's on board
with him and the rest of the team and that he understands that it
isn't his time to shine right now. Esteban Garcia accepts his apology
and tells him he does have one hell of a right hand.
Oliver LaPierre begins to speculate with Tyron Bagley as to the
repercussions they may face when they return to HILITE FC. Oliver
reminds Tyron that Misty DeMeans had very expectations for the both of
them and for them to flop in their first round fights is going to piss
her off. Tyron notes that Misty wasn't too happy when she left the GUF
tapings but by the time they get out of the house, she'll probably be
over it. Oliver tells Tyron that he felt added pressure coming to the
house because of her and Tyron defends Misty by reminding him that
pressure makes champions.
With Carson Carver being down in the dumps after his loss, Esteban
Garcia tells him and Tyreek Briggs about the Nikoli's alcohol stash
he's smuggled into the house. He encourages the duo to say fuck it and
get drunk this weekend since none of their guys have a fight this week
to prepare for anyways. Tyreek Briggs is skeptical but Carson Carver
is game and asks Garcia what he's got. Garcia responds by telling him
it's some hard Russian vodka. Briggs backs out at the last minute and
says he isn't getting mixed up in any bullshit. Carver tells Briggs
it's his loss.
GUF HOUSE #TeamNation
Arius Pagonis and Demetrius Vitalis receive a special call from
Atara Themis. She tells them that she's been watching GUF every week
and she's proud of both of them on how they've performed thus far. She
tells Demetrius Vitalis that he earned a place on the show and now
their pro team back home in Greece. She tells Pagonis to look out for
Vitalis because he's one of our own but also tells him not to change
because him being who he is has brought him all his success. Vitalis
gushes over the call while Airus Pagonis is all business and tells
Atara Themis that he's going to make sure he's in the finale in a
position to win it all.
Sunil Khan approaches Javi Ali and tells him that he hopes they can
turn a new page. Sunil tells Javi that he's made a lot of mistakes but
wants to be here to support him as a teammate and friend. Sunil tells
Ali that Jack Nation has decided to remain neutral for the fight and
that he know he's going to need him in his corner to prepare for this
fight against Anurak Chanthara. Javi Ali thanks Sunil but tells him
that if he plans on bringing Arius Pagonis along than he isn't
interested. Sunil tells Ali that they are all on the same team here
and that Arius isn't that bad of a guy, he's just misunderstood. Ali
tells Sunil that Arius isn't getting anywhere near his training camp
for the fight and that if it bothers him that much the he doesn't need
Sunil in his corner either.
Jacob Klein talks to Danny Cross about Ross Hanson's visit to the
house last week. He asks Danny how he feels about it and Danny Cross
admits it was a cool thing for him to do. He tells Jacob that Ross
Hanson brought up a lot of great points and showed some genuine
interest in having him be apart of Tundra MMA. Danny admits that he
hasn't made up his mind either way but that the visit from Ross Hanson
certainly has opened the door for the possibility that he sticks
around Tundra MMA and gives it another shot.
GUF GYM #TeamRossi
Nikoli Volkov has an incident at the gym when he shows up to
training with a hangover. Training staffs realize that Volkov is still
intoxicated and is sent back to the GUF house. Paul Rossi is later
informed about the situation and is livid. He tells producers that he
will be heading to the GUF house next week to sort matters out and get
to the bottom of what the hell is going on between the boys at the GUF
house.
Jessie Wilde and Tyron Bagley workout together. Bagley tells Wilde
that while he dislikes TW Combat, he's come to dislike Team Nation
even more. He realizes that his beef with TW Combat originates from
Misty DeMean's issues with Rob Jones but when Misty DeMeans came
through to the gym to help them it opened his eyes. He says that if
Misty can put aside their beef long enough to help them, he can do the
same for Wilde. Wilde tells Bagley that he is on some real shit and
appreciates the support. Bagley tells him not to mention it but that
if he loses to Team Nation and doesn't make the finale that all bets are off and he wouldn't hesitate to beat his ass at the GUF finale in a grudge match. Wilde laughs it off and tells him he won't need to worry about that, he isn't losing to any of them.
Esteban Garcia spends a few hours of the day hitting on a female
staffer on Team Rossi. When the guys find out, Tyreek Briggs tells
Garcia to back off and get his head in the game. Garcia responds by
assuring Tyreek that he can focus on more than one thing at once and
that he will be ready when his name is called. He tells Briggs that
having sex before fights releases endorphins that are beneficial for
fighting and physical peak performance. Tyreek Briggs admits he's on
to something but that the lady she is talking too is married. Esteban
Garcia responds by saying so what and Briggs tells him that his antics are going to get him killed one day.
GUF GYM #TeamNation
Jack Nation has a private conversation with Javi Ali and Anurak
Chanthara. He tells them that as head coach of team Nation he felt
obligated to sit this out and let the team fight it out this week. He
tells them both that he will let them select their own training
partners and if there is anyone that they would like to work with
specifically on his staff to feel free to make a request to him. He
wishes both of them the best of luck and tells them he knows that they
will be putting on a great fight, let the best man win.
Javi Ali assembles a team of workout partners consisting of Sunil
Khan, Danny Cross and Jacob Klein. On the other end, Anurak Chanthara
has the backing of Sanit Klahan, Demetrius Vitalis and an indifferent
Arius Pagonis. Despite everything at stake the training environment
remains positive.
Javi Ali focuses on choke escapes, clinch work and dirty boxing
within the clinch. Although he has fared well in grappling with Anurak
in previous training sessions he knows that he has a dangerous
submission game he could easily be caught in should he decide to play
that game. Javi Ali tells producers that while fighters may travel
across Thailand to grapple with someone as talented as Anurak; he has
no more vacations planned until the end of the year.
Anurak Chanthara has developed a few strategies to try to bait Javi
Ali into taking him down to the mat and will allow him to do so at
will preferring to fight off his back. On the mats, he has put an
emphasis on submissions - particularly the triangle choke. Also knowing
that Javi Ali will want to keep the fight standing and within the
clinch they are confident they can get a guard pull on him to drag the
fight into their world at some point. Chanthara believes that he will
have a superior gas tank should the fight extend to the 15 minute
three round limit.
THE FIGHT
BACKSTAGE #TeamNation
Jack Nation congratulates both Javi Ali and Anurak Chanthara for
having a great fight between the two men and putting it all on the
line out there. He mentions that it's the first time they've needed to
use the judges all season and that they both would be worthy of
advancing to the next round. He says that today Ali was the better man
but hopes he can watch them two go at it again someday on a GCC prime
time fight. He tells them that Javi Ali has made the GUF Finale and he
hopes to see him fighting in the finale against one of their own in
Demetrius Vitalis.
Anurak Chanthara with the help of Sanit Klahan translating tells
Javi Ali that he is a great fighter and fought a great fight tonight -
he says that he thinks Javi Ali will go all the way to win it all and
wishes him the best of luck. He respectfully bows and shakes Javi Alis
hand and Javi Ali repays him with the same respect. Javi tells him
that his is all what mixed martial arts is about and thanks them for
the great fight.
Javi Ali thanks Jack Nation for all the support he's given him on
and off the show. Happy for Ali, Jack Nation makes a light hearted
joke that now he is now in the good graces of President Khan since one
of their guys had made it to the finale. Ali laughs and tells Jack
it's a shame about Sunil Khan. Jack tells him not to worry about
Sunil, he will have plenty of opportunities to make a name for himself
that Javi Ali may have not have had without the show. Jack admits that
he was rooting for Ali behind the scenes and Javi Ali tells him he made the right decision by not coaching him. Nation tells Ali there's only one thing left to do now and Ali responds by telling him he can
consider it done. He tells Nation that he's going to go on to win it all with the blessing of the prophet.
FIGHT SELECTION MEETING
At the fight selection meeting, Jack Nation announces that Lone Wolf
MMA's Sanit Klahan from Team Nation will fight Paul Rossi's Jessie
Wilde out of TW Combat Sports. The two square up and Jessie Wilde
aggressively sticks his fists in Sanit Klahan'S face. Sanit Klahan
calls him names in every language under the sun as the two step away
from each-other still barking at each-other. The coaches intervene by
separating their respective fighters and head back to their locker-
rooms.
