On GFN 19: Sanchez vs. Knight II results
''I personally thought it was a great show with some exciting fights and I thought Juanita Sanchez and Krystal Knight both showed some interesting layers to their fight game which is especially exciting for two women who already have 20 GCC fights between the both of them. In terms of subscribers, it didn't pull the numbers initially projected by our analytics team but the event still ranks up there as one of the more successful events. I think sometimes we just need to take a step back and to not get too greedy or take these record shattering events for granted because it can be very easy to lose perspective when everything is going right.''
On the GCC Super heavyweight division:
''At this moment we have decided to scrap any ongoing plans to make a GCC Super heavyweight division. We had assigned several talent scouts in several countries and have come to the conclusion that there isn't enough world class talent available to start a quality division. Also, the fan fare was lacking quite a bit in general. We don't want to force anything onto the fans however we are still hoping to add a sixth division by the end of the 2021 calendar year. We're looking at WMMA in particular - there's seems to be a lot of interest in Women's Fighting these days and we may decide to move in that direction with a women's flyweight division contested at 125 pounds.''
On the return of Kosov Kourt:
''It's great to see some of the guys and girls from Kosov Kourt back into the GCC cage. With the return of Nika Kosov, Tatenda Masawui and especially the former Middleweight Champion Christian Ibanez back in the cage it's really boosted the depth of these divisions. While we have no official word on the rest of Kosov Kourt, I'd imagine that they are trying to make their returns to the GCC octagon as efficient as possible. I am looking forward to seeing how Christian Ibanez is going to look in his return against Ivaan Reddy who's really turned things around after a rough start to his GCC career. This fight is going to be huge for both of these guys careers moving forward.''
On Aleksandr Baranov vs. Shazir Khan:
''This is a huge step up in competition for my nephew, Shazir. Over the past 3 years he has served as my personal security detail and has done an amazing job. So much so, Shazir is at the point where Mixed Martial Arts is very much a secondary job to him. It's why when I agreed to let him fight here, we wanted to take things slow. We wanted to give him a few fights just to see where his skill level was at and how he matched up against these heavyweights. Admittedly, these guys that we have had Shazir fight were on their last leg and about to be cut but for the first time Shazir came to me and said he wanted to fight Aleksandr Baranov after hearing about his callout on social media. The thing is, Shazir hasn't been fond of how Aleksandr Baranov left The House of Khan to found Tundra MMA - he's wanted this fight ever since and he's going to get it. I know many of you are unfamiliar with my nephew but he will be here on this call tonight, you're going to hear from him for the first time ever.''
On the Main Event:
''Osira Themis really has a lot to prove in this fight. There has been a lot of talk about Ariel Shadows and how she carried herself as a champion that really threatens to undermine Osira's title reign but a victory over Sammie Ward would solidify her as the best women bantamweight in the world and silence the critics. Sammie Ward on the other hand lives, breathes and sleeps MMA so you know that she is going to be ready to throw down from the opening bell to reclaim the championship she lost. I do think that between these two women it's going to come down to fight preparation and which one of these women have put together the better training camp in order to boot up for fight night. I think when you look at the fight from this sort of perspective; Sammie Ward and TW Combat Sports has the edge, a pretty big edge. We will get to really see what the champion is made out of tomorrow night.''
