There are a few takeaways from this event. Please do not read this if you haven't checked out the show GCC 1: Sweet 16 as this post contains SPOILERS.
One Night Tournaments: There will be no more one night tournaments going forward. It didn't really the work the way I predicted it would. Due to people not submitting reports some fighters had tougher opponents, by the time they were finished their stamina was lower and the gap between those characters vs. the characters who did not submit camp reports that they would end up fighting later on was made much smaller and not as impactful as intended. Also because handlers are not preparing for a specific match up in the tournament, they can be at a disadvantage against a fighter with zero traits because fighters with no traits are only relying on their fighting IQ which is working directly against the human opponents whom are going into the fight blind due to the one night tournament setup.
''Never Shoots for takedowns'' has been modified. I am able to minimize take down offense by adjusting attributes and applying a trait but there no sure fire way to turn them off 100% due to the AI fighting IQ. The verbiage moving forward will be ''rarely shoots for take downs'' as the trait that makes fighters avoid going to the mat specifically states ''the fighter will avoid taking the fight to the ground unless they absolutely have no choice'' ; this way when a fighter that has this applied does go for a take down they have a chance to land one as there take down attribute will no longer be set to zero.
Apologies to Mr. Jones who got the short end of the stick on this one as because of this, it cost him at least one round and probably the fight in what turned out to be a very close fight.
Also changes have been made to ''Always allow take downs'' so that a fighter who has it will no longer sprawl on their opponents who shoot in for a take downs. All take down defense and sprawl ability will be set to zero if you had selected this on your app, the play by play may indicate that your fighter tried to defend a take down but your fighter will be taken down regardless.
That said, I think everyone's camp reports otherwise reflected well in their fights and I am happy about that. I know this probably won't be the last change or modification we make but I am dedicated into making this the best, most realistic and fair simulation efedding experience in the sphere and learning from mistakes when they are made I believe is part of that process.
