The following events in this thread occur on November 26th, 2020 so no references or statements should be made on social media regarding this event until November 26th, 2020.
On the current landscape of MMA
''I think we are dealing with very interesting times. In August of 2019 when we held our first event it seemed that MMA was going through a huge boom in terms of new promotions popping up on the scene. Now a year later the landscape looks to be a lot less convoluted and I think we can comfortably say that we're one of only two world class MMA promotions still around. Truth be told, I couldn't do it without my family, you amazing fans and the most important piece of it all... it's the FIGHTERS who leave their blood, sweat and tears in the cage on any given night. This is only the beginning, we still have so much more history to make.''
On the GCC Injury Bug
''Injuries are a part of sport but boy when it rains, it sure does pour. At GCC 14 there were a string of injuries we were hit hard by. Most notably, Jay Aguero and Tatenda Masawui will both be out for an extended period of time which in turn gives a huge opportunity for other heavyweights and future prospects to really make some waves in the division while they are out. Heavyweight has always been a pretty strong division and I expect to see any vacancies filled very quickly. I am sure guys like Tommy Ward and Aleksandr Baranov will be looking to assert themselves as the next challenger to Ross Hanson.''
On GCC 15 in Japan on Dec 26th
''We owe our Japanese fans this one. As you some of you may remember, GCC 9 which was headlined by Akane Ito and Sammie Ward was supposed to happen in Japan before the world was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic causing us to cancel the show. I promised the fans that we would make it up to them one day and I think we're going to make up for it and then some. Three title's on the line with the event being headlined by Misty DeMeans vs. Juanita Sanchez which is easily one of the most anticipated MMA fights all year. The main card on this one is stacked to the roof and we expect to shatter all previous records.''
On the GFN 15 Co Main Event
''Fabiano Bonnuci, man this kid has been on a tear since his debut earlier this year and notably has made a move to Toronto to train with HILITE FC. On the other hand, there has been some concerns about Joe Ravvi's preparation heading into this fight as TW Combat Sports have recently parted ways with him. These factors mean that Fabiano Bonucci is the favorite heading into this match up but a lot is at stake here as we could very well be looking at the next lightweight number one contender.''
On the GFN 15 Main Event
''This is a big fight that didn't really need to happen. Tim McCarthy had already done enough to earn the title shot against Clive Hicks but was intrigued by what Manuel Gamboa had to offer and called me the minute he heard that Gamboa and the rest of Gunplay MMA wanted the fight. Tim McCarthy is just that guy, he loves to fight and will throw down at a moments notice even in a situation where he has little to gain from it. On the other hand, Gamboa is a violent man and if he knocks off Tim McCarthy tomorrow night I think we will all be hearing about it for a long time.''
She told me that there was no glory without sacrifice and so now I must part with everything I love the most.
Fabiano holds his last piece of Gucci apparel in his hands before dropping into his suitcase on his bed and zipping it shut.
''Arrivederci, amore mio.''
On the other end his girlfriend is crying hysterically pleading with Fabiano Bonucci to stay with her but for her, its already too late.
Famiglia is everything so with the blessing of my father, he has allowed me to depart Italia to join the Canadian's at HILITE FC for a long term training camp led by a women by the name of Misty DeMeans. My mission here is simple, learn, apply and then grow. For I know one day, I will be called upon by the family to return to Italia to share my knowledge and experiences with my own brothers and sisters who will soon follow my path. Until then though, it is up to me to lead the way.
When I arrived in Canada, I was soon met by the women they call Misty DeMeans. I have heard of her long before I started my journey, it is true that many American MMA talents have a big following in Italia and she was no exception. Though the ''il giornale'' in Italia told different tales about her then the ones I would later read about her when I arrived, I felt the honorable thing to do was to reserve my judgement until a more accurate portrayal of her image could be painted.
The team she has assembled at HILITE FC is not like the famiglia in my homeland, I must admit it had initially concerned me. The members moved freely and in some cases were interchangeable. When I would later confront her about it she had explained to me that they had an open door policy, I do not understand how such a policy can exist but I have no choice but to respect the laws of their land. And yet, I had sensed that she shared many of the same apprehensions I did. You see not everyone in the gym belonged, there was much deadweight that needed to be cut at the strings but the scissors had long grown dull.
After my first few training sessions with HILITE FC, I was met with much controversy, this Misty DeMeans had turned out to be much of what I had read in the il giornale and she insisted that she sparr with me. Though unlike what you have read in the papers in the Americas, she was quickly met with power she was not familiar with - perhaps for the first time in her life. While it was very true there were many men she could stand the test of time with, I was not one of them.
Despite this, I had much to learn and there was much she could teach me. What I had in power, she shows me what I lack in technique. In addition to her working with me inside the gym, it was outside of it where I was lacking the most.
I had the style you see, expensive clothing - everything I wear is Gucci but she tells me that I lack a real image. I resented such claims at first until they were proven just. She enlightens me to the fact that they had chosen a man off a reality TV show to compete for the title because my story simply was not compelling enough. You beat Joe Ravvi and then what? You won another fight? And? One out of every two people get to do that in MMA. So what. Do you think you special? I asked you, THEN WHAT!? She mocks me but I do not have an answer to the question. This upsets me.
Then what!? I beat Joe Ravvi and then I stand with the same record as hers but niente to show for! Niente! It is after this realization that I needed to make a change and she was the only person that could help me do it.
For the past few weeks after training, I have been taking a class about something they call media training. How to answer questions, how to conduct yourself in public eye and how to act like a champion. The Misty DeMeans brags about how she did not ever need such classes but that I was a special case. Ridicolo!
I must confess, I am nervoso! I have never done such a thing like this before. All this time fighting only to realize I have been doing the easiest part of the job all along! This is the real fight. The fight to stand out from the crowd, the fight to captivate millions of fans watching at home...
Are you ready? She asks.
Fabiano Bonucci has joined the meeting.

Aristophanes, following his fight with Gamboa, we didn't hear much from your brother. Did Ambrus feel the shots were excessive or would care to comment?
Aristophanes Themis|Themis Palaestra
Ambrus lost the fight, excessive or not won't change the outcome. If you didn't hear from him, I'm not at liberty to say what he felt. He was on a losing streak, head was in a bad place, but he's done with competition now so..there ya go.
Nancy Holton | CageRage.com
Themis, the previous organisation you fought under, SupremeMMA, has recieved some flak from various fighters since it's closure. Before even. Considered amateur, do you think there a drop off in the competition. Do you thing those of you who've moved over are in deeper water?
Aristophanes Themis|Themis Palaestra
No. If it were I dont I would be sitting here right now. Don't think GCC would have thrown in the cage with a 5-3 fighter if they believed I couldn't hang. Here or there, it's a controlled environment with rules. We train the same regardless.
Kevin Wilson | MMAWORLD.COM
You mentioned Manu's record. You yourself went 1-1 and Supreme, do think cage experience will be a factor in this fight?
Aristophanes Themis|Themis Palaestra
Very much so. Experience factors in every part of life. He's a great fighter, just have to follow his example and stay cool. Stick to the gameplan and hope I'm better. I'm excited, think it will be a measure of were I stand in the division. Give him that 4th and my face might be on the next poster.
Kevin Wilson | MMAWORLD.COM
What's the gameplan exactly?
Aristophanes Themis|Themis Palaestra
Don't get knocked out.
Nancy Holton | CageRage.com
There's rumor floating around your cousin, Osira, may be in line for a shot at the Bantamweight title. As Themis Palaestra heard anything specific?
Aristophanes Themis|Themis Palaestra
You know my family. The minute they know the world will know. Alright, this has been fun, but I'm just a prelim guy atm and I'm sure you want to hear from someone else. Goodnight. Be safe.
The GCC presser is a staple of any pre-fight hype week. It is a way for fighters to get noticed, and a way for fans and reporters to learn about their individual personalities. Virtual or not, the TW Combat Sports team has made it a priority to attend these events.
At GFN 15 Karla Alvarez will make her second promotional appearance when she fights Katherine O'Campos. She now sits in front of her computer, freshly showered, visibly clad in a sports bra, answering questions, while you hear stifled giggles and Spongebob in the background.
Reporter:
Karla, you made your GCC debut a couple of months ago at GCC 12. Now that you are coming into your second appearance how are you feeling compared to a few months ago?
Karla:
I always feel confidence in myself. Yes, Katherine O'Campos is a step up in competition. She has been around GCC for a long time, and some people question whether I'm ready for a challenge like her, but I feel very confident in my ability to win.
Reporter:
In your last outing you fought Sanoh Ngam-Chit, and the fight went to a decision. A lot of people were under the impression you would stop Sanoh. How do you predict your fight will end Friday night?
Karla:
I will always look for a stoppage, but I'm not going to force it. There are some fighters who will put themselves at risk with unnecessary risks. I'm going to remain calm, and do what I do best. The stoppage will eventually come.
Reporter:
Do you feel that a win over Katherine O'Campos would help build headway for you in this stacked featherweight division?
Karla:
It definitely will. Katherine is on a three fight win streak right now. The featherweight division is stacked though. I'm not expecting a top 10 slot with a win, but it will put me on Fazan Khan's radar.
Reporter:
If you're able to beat Katherine O'Campos on Friday night do you have any name in mind who you might like to fight.
Karla:
If I have to be honest. A fight with the winner of Mila Savauge and Mia Stevens interests me. My mind is not looking past Friday night right now. Katherine is not somebody to take lightly. I am very confident in my abilities, but I am not cocky.
Emcee:
There's time for one more question.
Reporter:
Your friend Juanita Sanchez has a huge fight coming up at GCC 15 against Misty DeMeans. We haven't heard much out of your camp in regards to her training. How is it going?
Karla:
She's working hard. She's having a great training camp right now that's why she isn't in Abu Dhabi with me, but if I don't have any major injuries I will be flying back to New York on Monday morning and I will continue to help with her camp, as I always have done for her, and she always has done for me.
With one final smile to the camera Karla Alvarez disconnects from the conference call.
Karla quickly turns around to face Sammie Ward, who will be in Karla's corner.
Karla:
What was so funny?
Sammie's stifled giggles break down into full out :tears in the eyes' laughter.
Sammie:
You forgot to put this on.
Sammie throws Karla her t-shirt.
Karla:
Oh... Shit…
Karla looks towards her computer mortified, as Sammie continues with her hysterics.

The last time we spoke you were confident about your chances against Aleksandr Baranov but you lost that fight. How did you feel about your performance and do you agree with the judges decision?
JaySon Francis | Praying Mantis
It's straight up bullshit. These judges are a fucking joke. I won that fight. I am going to say it and I don't care if I get fined for it, these judges have a history at favoring everybody but a black fighter when it comes to decisions. We have seen it time and time again, these middle eastern judges have a thing against black folk. We sick and tired of this bullshit man!
Nathan Zafir | Allthebestfights.com
Most fans would say that you shouldn't leave the fight in the hands of the judges...
JaySon Francis | Praying Mantis
It's easy to tell the fighters not to leave it in the hands of the judges but it's not like I am sitting here making that fucking choice - there's another fighter in the cage with me swinging hands trying to do the same thing. We should be able to depend on the judges to do their fucking job or fix their judging system which constantly rewards stalling and control over damage. Only one of us was closest to finishing that fight and it wasn't Aleskandr Baranov and it's like these shithead judges don't even take that any of that into account. Keep it real, even Aleksandr Baranov didn't really feel he won that fight and that's why he's been quiet as hell on the social media as well. This is some bullshit bro, I am telling you.
Kevin Wilson | MMAWORLD.COM
How do you feel about your upcoming fight against Charlie Leonardo?
JaySon Francis | Praying Mantis
Fuck Charlie Leonardo. I am sick of playing the gate keeper in this motherfucking division. I don't care about Charlie, I don't respect him as an opponent and to be straight up with you I am outright insulted I need to share the cage with this sack of shit. This lazy fuck is going to be out of a job by next year, he can hardly show up to the fight with a dollar bill to fill his fucking gas tank and doesn't even own a computer to zoom the fuck in and complete a press conference. I don't even know what this bitches voice sounds like, do you? I mean really what the fuck are we on right now? I want back in the top five, I want back into the title discussion and I want to be throwing down with some real heavyweights not this good luck Charlie bitch ass nigga! FUCK OUTTA HERE!!!
Kevin Wilson | MMAWORLD.COM
But Charlie...
JaySon Francis | Praying Mantis
Listen I'm not watching no tape, I am not paying this motherfucker any mind - I am beating this motherfuckers ass and that's the end of discussion. I don't want to talk about Charlie Leonardo, I am trying to see the bigger picture. We want to talk chips? Ross Hanson. I know you all want to sleep on the fact that I am the only person in the GCC to give that boy a L', we need to be talking about how Ross Hanson needs to reedeem himself if he's really about securing his legacy in this bitch. Rumor mill says Tommy Ward or Aleksandr Baranov's got next but I say fuck all that and go straight to the facts. If you want to give the fans a guaranteed competitive fight, I'm the man. Five rounds? Don't tell me. Give me five rounds and there is no way that kid makes it out and still. I promise that on everything.
Nancy Holton | CageRage.com
Mr. Francis, I understand your very upset. I just want to know what your thoughts are on the current landscape of the GCC heavyweight division?
JaySon Francis | Praying Mantis
Jay Aguero fell off hard as fuck and Tatenda was just a product of the GCC hype machine - those two looked like shit last time out and were sucking air inside the first. Garbage. Who gives a shit if they are hurt they are not relevant in this division anymore. So real talk, there's no fight for me outside of Tommy Ward and Aleksandr Baranov two men who won at being the judges favorite pet... give me five rounds against any of them and it's going to be a different story.
Tyson Johnson | Blogger
Brother, you know I feel for you but what about the squad? There's some big things on the horizon for everyone at Gunplay MMA, how do you feel about the current wave?
JaySon Francis | Praying Mantis
I'm proud of what Gunplay MMA has done collectively but as the leader, I am not living up to the role at all. In one breath, I am proud of all of them - Trixx, Vishis and Manuel have all been putting on for the squad and seeing much success but I am not going to lie and say that I don't feel some type of way by having all them show me up. These judges man... they really got me looking foolish out here. At the end of the day, I know it's on me. I still need to be better but these racist judges out here is really making shit harder on me, you feel me? That's all I am saying.
Tyson Johnson | Blogger
Thanks brother. Keep your head up, we got you.
JaySon Francis | Praying Mantis
You a real one. Respect.
Nathan Zafir | Allthebestfights.com
Hi, Manuel. In your last fight against Ambrus Themis you looked brilliant and you ended the fight by knocking him out cold but there was a bit of controversy after the fight as many fans believed you snuck a few unnecessary shots on Ambrus after the referee called it. What do you say to those fans?
Manuel Gamboa | The Thoroughbred
What do you mean? I said it once and I'll say it again, it was super necessary. As far as I knew, he was still alive. It's the referee's job to get in there and stop the fight. I am not going to stop swinging until I am sure he's out cold. Anyways, he's good. He didn't die or anything, I don't see what's the big deal.
Kevin Wilson | MMAWORLD.COM
Manny as it's been widely reported Tim McCarthy went out of his way to accept this fight with you and is notably putting his contendership on the line. So the question is... do you respect Tim McCarthy?
Manuel Gamboa | The Thoroughbred
I respect him enough to hit him hard enough to knock him out, yeah. I am not going to play with my food, I'll make this kill as clean and as respectable as possible. What I'm not going to do is sit here and kiss this guys ass like he's giving me something, I'm not a charity case homie. I don't need nobodies pity. Everything I have got in life, I've earned through hard work and I don't appreciate this idea that his cat is giving me something for nothing. Slick over there needs this win as much as I do because he knows he's beat a bunch of no nothings on his way to the top. This middleweight division is weak as fuck and he knows he needs me, he needs this. So fuck off with all this humble pie shit because it's all an act homes.
Nancy Holton | CageRage.com
What is your game plan for this fight?
Manuel Gamboa | The Thoroughbred
Bite down on that mouthpiece and let's go baby. There isn't much too it. I am going to come forward and swing until he goes down. If you're all about the purity of MMA and watching a well rounded fight then you're going to be disappointed because I have zero plans on shooting a double and rolling around on the mat with this cat. I predict this is going to be a quick fight with a violent end well within five rounds.
Nancy Holton | CageRage.com
And if by the end of the night your declared the winner, how do you feel about your chances against Clive Hicks?
Manuel Gamboa | The Thoroughbred
Declared winner? Homegirl, you got shit twisted. We aren't talking about a debate or a presidential election, it's a fight. No declaration needed when I take this canuck's head clean off his shoulders. As for that hillbilly Clive man, I'm not worried about him all. I think Tim puts up more of a fight than that jock sniffer does any day of the week.
Tyson Johnson | Blogger
Yo Manuel, how you doing bro!? Ay, check this out. Gunplay MMA has been tearing it up lately, what can we expect of ya'll in 2020? How is it going to feel when your the first one to bring gunplay MMA home that gold?
Manuel Gamboa | The Thoroughbred
That's whatsup man, it's going to feel damn good. I really feel like people out here have been sleeping on the gang homie but we about to make some real noise around here and wake everybody up. Progression has been the key for all of us and we have been close here and there but I know the squad is counting on me to finally bring them over that finish line. It starts tomorrow night when I get Tim McCarthy up out our way real quick.
Tyson Johnson | Blogger
I feel you, appreciate you.
Manuel Gamboa | The Thoroughbred
Much love, Ty.
As in past press conferences Svetlana Oblonsky is translating for Anastasia ivanovich...
We have heard rumors of Anastasia leaving Kosov Kourt to join House of Khan. Is this true, and if so is it permanent?
SO: Yes. We have decided, even though Kosov Kourt is an excellent gym, that House of Khan is a better training environment. The move will be permanent, and you'll see an even better Anastasia Ivanovich.
Are you able to discuss the falling out which led to Anastasia training at the House of Khan?
SO: There was not a falling out. Nika Kosov, and her coaching staff are very wonderful. Anastasia felt the move would be best. There was not a situation or a falling out.
How will this move in the middle of a training camp affect Anastasia?
SO: Her training camp did not begin until she arrived at House of Khan. She had plenty of time for a proper camp, and we believe you will see the results on Friday night.
What is her game plan fighting Dame Raven Williams?
SO: Dame is an exceptional athlete. She is a high level grappler and wrestler just like Anastasia. We wanted this fight because Anastasia and Dame are so much alike in the cage.
What would a win mean for Anastasia?
SO: We try not to look ahead too far. Anastasia's focus is on Dame Raven Williams, but we will update everybody on Twitter after the fight. Please feel free to follow Anastasia at @AnastasiaGCC.
A few moments go by…
SO: If there are no more questions Anastasia would like to address everybody personally…
AI "баарыңызга рахмат! Күйөрмандарымды сыймыктандырам деп ишенем."
SO: She says thank you for the support!
With their customary smiles Anastasia and Svetlana disappear off screen.
Brett Bethel <Throwdown MMA> Tim, we have heard Khan praise you for accepting this fight with Manuel Gamboa and putting your contender status on the line when you didn't have too - can you elaborate as to why you made such a risky decision?
<Tim McCarthy> Absolutely. Well, let me start off by saying that I don't see this as me taking a risk. To me, it's just another a fight. I believe that if I can't get passed Manuel than I stand no chance against the champ, Clive Hicks. I don't believe in picking my own fights or trying to get strategic in my approach and that's not me knocking those with a more methodical mindset as I am sure that it's worked out for them in many cases but to me it's like... if I can't get past this guy then I don't even deserve the title shot. I believe that no matter where you stand on the issue a win over Gamboa leaves no questions in anyone's mind as to who belongs in the cage opposite of the champ.
Brett Bethel <Throwdown MMA> So in other words - no pressure? Should you lose will there not be a little part in you that regrets accepting the match up?
<Tim McCarthy> No way. If Manuel Gamboa is the better man tomorrow night then I can live with that knowing that the fans are going to see the best matchup the Middleweight division can offer them at this time. Life is too short man. With how everything has been going this year with the coronavirus and sitting at the dinner table with a few empty seats, it really has hit home now more than ever. If I am healthy and I am prepared, I want to fight. Nothing is guaranteed. I want to be able to do what I love as often as I can especially at my age. This opportunity I have been given at GCC has been a blessing and the prospect or reality of a loss to a young killer like Manuel Gamboa doesn't change that fact one bit.
Kathy Santos <MMA analyst> How do you feel you match up with Gamboa stylistically?
<Tim McCarthy> Great question. For this training camp, I think watching and studying tape has been more important than it ever has. In almost every scenario, the world class striker has gotten the better of the exchange and wins the fight. I know my chins going to have to hold up long enough to get in close and really make this a dirty fight between two rabid pits. I am ready for a war. If the fight does end up on the ground, I feel that I have a significant advantage there but I need to be tactful in my approach. This is easily the biggest challenge of my career and part of the reason why I accepted this match up. To be honest, I'd be surprised if either of us walked out healthy enough to bounce back for the December super show like Khan wants.
Kathy Santos <MMA analyst> Timmy, as we all saw several weeks ago Sanit Klahan won the Global Ultimate Fighter for the Lightweight bracket and has earned a title shot against Rob Jones. How do you think he fairs and do you think he's ready for such a big matchup so early in his professional career?
<Tim McCarthy> Sanit is up for the challenge. The kid is hard at work behind the scenes and is really motivated to pull off what I would consider to be the greatest upset the GCC has ever seen. He knows that he's been given the opportunity of a lifetime and the fact that several other guys in the lightweight division do not feel like he deserves it is only adding fuel to his fire. I think the match up is great to help shake up the division and at the very least there's a viable list of contenders heading into the New Year.
Jack Braxton <Radio Host> With the current Middleweight Champion Clive Hicks a free agent and knowing that Misty DeMeans is heavily involved in the contract negotiations is there any concern that the match up may never happen?
<Tim McCarthy> My main concern right now is Manuel Gamboa. As far as the contract situation that is really between Clive, his team and President Khan. On the outside looking in, I have a lot of confidence that a deal is going to be done despite the dog and pony show Misty puts on as a distraction. I believe wholeheartedly that Clive more than anything is a fighting champion and whether it be me or Manuel who gets the honors, the fight is going to happen provided all parties involved are healthy. If not for Clive and his team than you can always count on Khan to make sure the fans get what they want so yeah, nothing to see here - a deal is going to be done.
John Bergandy <Sports Writer> Tim as always you have shown a sense of humility and respect for your opponent but does it all concern you that Manuel Gamboa is unlikely to treat you with the same respect?
<Tim McCarthy> Oh, not at all. I don't concern myself with issues I cannot control. At the end of the day, I am responsible for my own actions and words and as long as I can stand by them at the end of the day, I'll sleep like a baby in the Night. Manuel Gamboa is product of his environment, I expect the same of him as we have the rest of his teammates at Gunplay MMA. I know that when the cage door closes that deep down despite his words, he respects me. He will have no choice. Manuel Gamboa understands full well that if it weren't for me, he wouldn't have had the opportunity to knock my head off my shoulders. And sure, he will try. Hell, he may even manage to do it. What he will not do is call me coward or a bitch, he will look me in the eyes and realize for the first time in his life that he has met someone who does not fear him.
John Bergandy <Sports Writer> Do you have any plans set after the fight?
<Tim McCarthy> I'll drink a beer, maybe two.
