The events in this thread occurs on September 5th, 2019. No mentions of what occurs at this event should be mentioned directly through social media before the press conference is revealed to the public.
Fazan Khan is almost eerily calm as takes his seat at the press press conference table with Agustin Gates and Jake Rogers who are strategically seated to his left and his right. Beside Gates, Gaia Galanos sits with a stoic look on her face while Anaquinn is soaking in her surroundings alongside Rogers.
Fazan smiles with a great deal of satisfaction and takes to the podium with much more confidence then he last month in Dubai, perhaps the fact that his show was deemed as a commercial success further bolstered the old mans confidence.
The media present was more quiet as usual perhaps they were just anticipating what Mr. Khan would say next, what news if any he may choose to break. They essentially whispered among each-other up until the point that he began to speak...
Fazan Khan: My friends, we did it. We actually did it. Our first show was nothing short of amazing and set the standard of what we can expect in the future and our prospects look amazing. I am proud of my staff, my family and most important the fighters who have trained for their fights on a daily basis only to show up and leave their hearts in the cage, truly amazing.
Mr. Khan nearly has a tear in his eyes as Agustin pats the bosses shoulder to assure him that he was someone he could count on.
Fazan Khan: On Saturday Night, the four closest fighters sitting next to me today will be headlining our very special fight card in New Delhi, India where we will determine our two next contenders and specifically, our next lightweight successor as one of these two men will surely right the wrong that had occurred at Sweet 16.
Agustin Gates and Jake Rogers exchange some words between each other as Fazan Khan does his best mediate.
Fazan Khan: Well, without further ado... I think it's about time we give our friends here their time. I know they are chomping at the bit to say their piece and present their case.
Fazan turns his microphone to the side as the reports eagerly spring into action trying to be the first ones to get their questions and soundbites out.
Gaia Galanos Press Conference Quotes
Throughout the press conference, Gaia Galanos retained her normal reserved manner. Whether mentioned or not, Gaia remained stoic. As some of the questions came her way, she calmly answered regardless of whether they were in reference to her peers.
On Gaia’s ‘Twitter War’ with Rupika:
“I don’t know that I would use the phrase ‘Twitter War’ to describe it. As far as our words go, I don’t know that Rupika and I will ever see eye-to-eye, but at least she will get the opportunity to prove her claims at Global Fight Night 1.”
On preparations made for Global Fight Night 1:
“In terms of Mixed Martial Arts, there isn’t much film on either one of us. We’re both wrestlers so it’s safe to say we both excel in that form of combat, but that’s merely a small portion of what is ultimately one big algebraic formula. I know for a fact that Anaquin has been working her arse off in more ways than one. But, I am completely focused on Mixed Martial Arts and that’s why in two night’s the world is going to see the payoff of my complete focus rather than Anaquin Adams’ split attention.”
On the status of her gym search: “Being at the Global Training Facility has really helped me focus my training in preparation for my upcoming match against Adams, but I am already looking for a gym because sparring with the best can only make you better. I originally was looking for a gym in Greece, but have since decided something more local to GCC would be ideal for now. As far as whether I’ve signed with a gym, I have not.”
On the GCC Featherweight Champion, Mila Sauvage:
“I am currently one competitor within a sea of contenders until I am able to prove myself. Sauvage is the champion for a reason. Winning one fight in a single night is tough; she has won three. Before I shift my attention over to her and her title, I have a fight I have to win.”
On Anaquin Adams implying she would make Gaia Galanos call her “daddy” over Twitter:
“Throughout my career, I have always strived to be the best, and most of the time, people were chasing me and wanting what I had because my focus was on becoming the best. MMA is no different in that regard to me than professional wrestling. I have been champion as a professional wrestler, and my goal in MMA is no different. If Anaquin thinks she’s going to be my daddy headed into our match then that’s on her when she’s forced to think about her words after she taps.”
The attention is turned to the green-haired Anaquin Adams as she is asked the first question.
Q) When did you decide to begin MMA training? And what made you decide to go with Global as your MMA Company.
Anaquin: It's no secret that I've been doing professional wrestling for the past five years. About six months ago, I decided I needed a new challenge. So, I left the spotlight, went into focused training and here I am. Global Championship was kind enough to take a chance on a relative nobody in this business. My name in professional wrestling doesn't necessarily mean much when it comes to MMA. They are two entirely different animals. I am very thankful that I'm being allowed an opportunity.
Q) So are you done with wrestling?
Anaquin: Absolutely not. In fact, I will be wrestling for Mile High Wrestling against Alex Carbajal for their second Spectacular show on the 15th. And I've just signed a contract with Extreme Wrestling Corporation to begin with them after my commitment to MHW. I plan on doing both wrestling and MMA. Well, unless I complete suck at MMA at which I'll have to reevaluate my goals. (She laughs.)
Q) How are you feeling about your opponent, Gaia Galanos.
Anaquin: I've done some scouting, but honestly I feel she's going to give me a very hard time. I am not even going to lie. She's probably the one competitor in this company that concerns me the most. But, I've been training for this moment for the past six months and while I respect her, I'm not going to lay down for her. She's going to get everything I have and more. I am hoping for fight on the night on this one. It'll be a rough one.
Q) Any other competitors you're looking to battle while in Global?
Anaquin: I watched the last show live and there are plenty, but my focus right now is specifically on Gaia. I can't even begin to look past her and I won't even try. Thank you for allowing me to be here and I hope that on Saturday we can put on an amazing show.
Agustin Gates turned and grilled his GCC debut opponent with intensity in his eyes. Jake Rogers turned and met his opponent's gaze with the same determined and intense stare. The two had been itching to get locked in the cage with one another for a while now. Not only was a major reward awaiting the winner of the bout, but the two warriors just wanted to silence the other once and for all. So many pictures were taken as the two kept staring holes into one another. A reporter rose from his seat, hoping to break the cold silence in the room.
Reporter: Excuse me gentlemen but we-
Agustin: I can't wait to put you out of your misery Jake. Your face seriously disgusts me. I don't care about any questions these people might have on their notepads, or in their minds. I just want our fight to come already.
The Majestic One kept his long stare glued on his opponent, completely ignoring the reporter who had a few questions for him. Remaining cool as a fiddle, Jake sat in his chair listening to everything Gates had to say. Khan, wanting to maintain order in the press conference, motioned for security to stay on their toes in case a brawl broke out. Agustin's coaches whispered to him to be careful with what he said and did next.
Agustin: I want my name etched into the record books of Global Combat Championships. I want every time people walk through our doors, they see my picture holding the Lightweight Championship high in the air. My face will be the one representing our division. Not yours! You're too passive. I, on the other hand, am not. Khan wants gladiators to compete for him, not timid children. September seventh is right around the corner Jake. That day will forever become your nightmare.
Seeing that not a single word of his was effecting his nonchalant opponent whatsoever, Gates sprung out of his seat creating a massive commotion. Snatching the microphone from off the table, Gates headed towards Jake though security quickly became a wall between the two scheduled fighters. Jake simply smiled into the camera, displaying that his opponent's immature tactics and trash talking wouldn't get him off his game.
Agustin: You stay right there Jake. You keep looking into the camera, showing the world how really frightened you are of me. The same way how I'm standing and you're sitting, is what's going to happen on fight night. I'll be the one up, and you'll be the one sitting getting attended by the official. September seven, thousand and nineteen. The night Agustin Gate, the King of the Lightweight Division, signs on the dotted contract to face Cayden Redfield. And when that happens, don't worry I'll get you a ticket for that fight.
With a smirk, Gates tried pushing the hefty men in front of him onto Jake which actually annoyed his opponent. Finally having Jake's full attention, Gates rose the microphone back to his lips.
Agustin: You'll have front row seats to the night Cayden falls, and my era rises. This is my division. This my moment. And come September seventh, you'll realize you never stood a chance against me.
When Gates threw his microphone at Jake, missing his face by a few inches, extra security rushed onto the scene as Jake and Agustin tried to throw down before their big night. More pictures were taken as the two lightweights barked insults at one another, trying to get through the wall of security. Khan was in the back trying to control the situation. But everyone knew he was elated inside. September 7th was about to become a historic and high octane night for GCC.
Rupika Khan looks annoyed that someone has asked her a question as she's forced to turn down the volume on her headphones to listen to it.
Q) As a member of the Khan family, do you feel that you are being treated differently by the fans, media and even your fellow fighters?
Rupika Khan: Obviously. Like, duh. The worst part about it is that my grandpapa is so hard pressed to prove that he is fair and balanced and that I have NO special privileges to the point where I am being treated unfairly, like a second class citizen around here! The truth is, I should be treated like royalty for the simple fact I carry the last name of Khan. If you don't like it? Well, I have sisters and brothers who are currently single and I'm sure we could arrange something if you REALLY wanted to be apart of this family. The fact that you aren't is your fault, not ours!!!
Q) Do you ever think your grandfather is embarrassed by you and your antics, Ms. Khan?
Rupika Khan: Your disrespectful line of questioning is enough for me to partition that my father revokes your media badge for LIFE! Antics? What antics? I have done nothing wrong. I am kind, respectful and I even made a new friend named Anaquinn on social media... like, what more can you all ask for?
Q) Rumor has it you didn't want to join the one night tournament to compete at GCC 1, why?
Rupika Khan: WHAT!? LIES. I was NEVER given the opportunity to compete! Anyone who follows me on social media knows that I was BEGGING my granddad for that fight but he knew that if he let me in and I won it would start tons of controversy that would make Rob Jones and Agustin Gates look like choir boys! So, I was FORCED to sit out while the likes of Anya ''Old Lady'' Bobrov, Harmony ''Smoking weed errday'' Joplin and the girl they cut from the suicide squad Kali Black made a mockery of the sport by coming in and looking like absolute doggy doo doo and tarnishing the GCCs good name!
NEXT QUESTION.
Q) How do you feel you match up against Brookyn Amor?
First off, I want to thank my friends, family and Donald Trump for their support. Without Mr. Agent Orange face in the white house, he would have never enacted the sorts of immigration policies that keep people like Brooklyn Amor out of their oppressive country. We all know if she was ALLOWED in LEGALLY to the United States she would be fighting with Starbucks customers for minimum wage so she could pay her way through college instead of fighting ME, who is a daughter of Saudi Royalty. Thank you, Trump for making this fight possible!
Q)... Ms. Khan, you expressed that you didn't want this fight. Did you not?
Rupika Khan: LOOK, I realized my opponent doesn't even matter! The poor girl doesn't know what she's getting herself into! I will grab hold of her, jump guard and slap a triangle on her so quick you'll all wonder if the poor girl was just a plant my granddaddy found to make me look good! I will prove to my grandfather that I should be in there with the likes of Anaquinn, Mila and even googleplex over there! I am the MAIN EVENT. I am the MOOLAH MONEY fight.
Q) Rupika, what do you think of Mi....
Rupika couldn't hear anything after that. She decided she was done answering questions with a dismissive shrug of her shoulders she slipped a pair of beats by Dre headphones over her ears.
