Fazan Khan: Hello everybody, welcome to the first in-person press conference since the initial COVID-19 outbreak! It's great to be back in person and joined by so many of our great fighters ahead of GCC 20. This is going to be very different from our zoom format and with so many fighters in attendance tonight, I don't want to take up too much time because I know you would much rather hear from them. That said, I'll field a couple quick questions from you guys before I step aside and let them take this thing over.
Q) Fazan, how has the new social media website been going for the GCC? The fans seem to be loving it thus far, what are your thoughts?
Fazan Khan: It's been amazing, I was on early today and nearly all these guys are on there already. It's only been a few weeks and fans are already getting to know some these guys better already and I'll tell you what, I've never seen build up like this between fighters heading into an event. Most importantly, it's just great for the fans. Anything that is going to help them get invested in these fights it's great for business and everyone of these fighters on the card.
Q) What are your expectations in terms of numbers for GCC 20?
Fazan Khan: It's too early too call but in terms of lead in and the interest this card has been drumming up with the fans, we're looking at going nuclear. Misty and Gaia had broke records at the time their first fight happened and those numbers still stand strong today, I don't see how this rematch doesn't shatter the previous record set.
Q) Do you have any venues set after the Canadian tour is done after GCC 21?
Fazan Khan: Nothing has been set in stone but the Canadian Tour has been amazing so far, we would like to keep the momentum going on the side of the globe preferably but we're still in talks with several venues and the governing bodies of those respective countries. I should have more on this for you in a few weeks. Okay friends, everything good? I'm going to step aside and let these guys answer some questions.
Q) Yes, I have a question for Misty DeMeans. Misty, you've had an amazing run early in your career amassing a 10 fight unbeaten streak with five of those wins inside a GCC octagon. For the first time in your career, you'll be fighting in a rematch. Do you approach things any differently the second time around and do you have any trouble staying motivated when tasked with doing something you've already done before?
Misty DeMeans: Nah, I ain't worried about fixing shit that ain't broke. Gaga is going to try to do everything different because she has no choice but to close her eyes and shoot doubles whenever she can because she learned the hard way that she cannot stand in the cage with me. I know what I am great at unlike 2 tries Galanos and you already know I'mma make no secret about it, I'mma piece her up even worse this time around. Simple. As for any talk about motivation, that's never been a problem. Money's always been the motivation. Legacy always been the motivation. GOAT shit? Yeah, don't even question me about motivation. While ya'll worry about getting your asses out of bed at 7 in the morning, I'm already at the gym hitting warm ups.
Q) At GCC 20, this will be the second time you are stepping into the cage with Misty DeMeans. Looking back at the first fight where do you think you went wrong and what do you plan on doing differently this time around?
Gaia Galanos: When Misty and I first fought last year, I was still fairly new to the octagon. I made the mistake of believing I could hang as a striker with her. Despite being champion, I was still fairly green to the octagon. But, I'm a lot more experienced now. And I understand not to try to stand and trade with Misty DeMeans. While Misty has been sitting around trying to squeeze Mr. Khan's pockets dry, I've been preparing myself to be the GCC featherweight champion once again. I've defeated a long line of documented strikers in GCC to get back to the featherweight title.
Q) Clive Hicks you are known to hold more traditional conservative values. Ken Felder is known as the first openly gay mixed martial artist - what are your thoughts on him sharing these intimate details with the GCC universe?
Clive Hicks: Ken is gay!? Clive didn't have a darn clue! You know it's making a lot of sense why Misty has been runnin' around the gym calling Kenny the bottom guy! No worries, yur boy Clive believes freedom first and foremost so if that's what he chooses to do with it then so be it! Wrestlin' in both high school and college there were a lot of the gays in the lockeroom but they weren't nearly as brave as Kenny is to be so loud, proud and open about his sexuality so kudos to him for breaking the stigma! At the end of the day though, Clive is going to treat Kenny Felder as if he were like any other man trying to peg his wife and beat the ever loving dog shit out of him at GCC 20!
Err... Clive should probably make mention that he doesn't have a wife. Yet, but he's looking! Give Clive a call Savannah. Please.
Q) Rupika Khan recently there has been discussions behind the scenes regarding your dedication to the sport of MMA after you showed up to your last fight against Kylie Moore late on fight night. What happened and how did your grandfather react?
Rupika Khan: I've been going through some... stuff. I know you're with the media and that you probably think you're entitled to an answer about that but somethings are better left as a private matter. No, it won't happen again and no you don't have to worry about this fight with Jessica House not happening, it's going to go down like donkey kong on May 28th.
My Grandpapa maybe a harded head man but he's been reasonable and supportive of my career since the very beginning. While he had every right to be concerned, he is understanding of what I am going through right now and I couldn't hope to work for a better boss. He has gotten me the help I needed and I aim to make the most of the resources provided to me by the GCC.
Q) Misty DeMeans your opponent has made it no secret that she is approaching this fight with a different strategy than the first and will actively try to out-wrestle and out-grapple, how do you intend to deal with the world class wrestling of Gaia Galanos?
Misty DeMeans: The same way I dealt with Jyawnita Sanchez at '15 when I broke her rib cage in .51 seconds. Granted, I ain't saying that I'mma finish Gaga that quickly or even inside the 1st but the job will be done within five rounds. My grappling has always got called into question because nobody has been able to match the hands so they gotta work OT to find areas that gives them a bit of confidence some BS that a headcoach can latch onto to justify why the fuck he still has a job type shit. Facts is, I got some of the best BJJ guys in the world to roll with starting with Takeshi Kato and it ain't all rainbow and butterflies down here. If it wasn't apparent to Gaga that I was a better striker within the first minute of our first fight then she dumb as shit and ya'll should be asking about where her wrestling went then rather then settle for her excuse that she needed a whole second fight to get shit right.
Q) This question is for Clive Hicks. Daniel Dream has expressed on social media that he wants a rematch with you as soon as possible. What are you thoughts on a potential rematch with Mr. Dream?
Clive Hicks: You all have seen what yur boy Clive did to that poor old man! Dreamy has nothing to offer to good ol' Clive, let's be honest! Danny's best days are already behind him so yur boy Clive understands why he is so desperate to run that back before he dies of old age but even in a country as great as AMERICA you don't always get what you want. If Danny wants another shot at your boy Clive, he's going to have to work for it. Clive will beat down his ex... training partner, Ken Felder first. Then Clive is going to have his name top billing on a GCC pay per view! Lastly, Clive will be the NEW NEWEST Middleweight Champion once again! So until that happens yur boy Clive ain't taking any calls or making any dates with anybody else, Clive is a fully committed man, baby! Oooyah!
Q) Hi, Emiliano Martinez You will be making your debut on the prelims at GCC 20 against Aristophanes Themis as the opening fight. With the card being headlined by the likes of Misty DeMeans and Gaia Galanos on the main card do you feel any added pressure with the extra fanfare that is expected to be attributed to the event?
Emiliano Martinez: Hey it definitely is a big card. I know there are going to be more people than usual watching on the we are splat Network, but I won't let that intimidate me. I put in the hard work, and tomorrow night in front of the greatest fans in mixed martial arts, our fans GCC fans I'm going to beat up Aristophanes Themis, and let the world know that I have arrived!
Q) Eoin ORourke what are your thoughts of Tatenda Masawui as an opponent and what do you think a win over him at GCC 20 will do for your GCC heavyweight championship aspirations?
Eoin O'Rourke: I think Zulu is a hellova fighter. I respect his prowness and determination. But I will never say he's a better fighter than me. His one loss is proof enough but I won't underestimate him. I've been training very hard to be ready to face Zulu. But like my ancestors, I'll put him down. As for looking past him? Mate, if me besting this warrior doesn't put me on the radar, then they need to be reallocated. I have wanted to face the best and I have beaten the rest. But before I look for gold, I want to beat the next best thing first lad. Wether it be your nephew, my own teammate, or whoever loses the upcoming Heavyweight title match, I want to face them first, before I face the Heavyweight champion of the world.
Q) Misty DeMeans With all the fanfare in your favour leading up to your fight with Galanos, do you have anything special in mind for your championship walkout out or entrance music tomorrow night?
Misty DeMeans: I mean, I might have to stomp out to some DMX just to pay homage to another great but besides that Ill leave that choreographed clown shit up to the part time pro wrestlers like Gaia Galanos. Like damn, yall see all these advertisements all over the place with her face on it? Props to her team though for being able to leverage this fight to make her the most amount of money. Its no coincidence her wrasslin match is right off the back of our fight and the we are splat tv execs are splatting their pants at the idea that this broad is going to be able to walk into the ring with the GCC title strap to legitimize their whole shit. I aint out here for celebrity wrasslin matches or splat tv shows thats the difference between me and this chick, she straight hollywood as fuck.
Q) Nathanya Dekker Why did Tekeyah Jackson seek represenation of Demeanor INC and why does her manager choose to speak on the behalf of her fighter during press conferences?
Nathanya Dekker: Well, I'm sure you're well aware that Tekeyah Jackson is a direct product of headcoach Misty DeMeans out of HILITE FC - yeah? Okay, so then you can imagine that seeing as how she is far less popular then Misty and has a far smaller monetary net worth - which we fully intend to change by the way, that she would otherwise lack representation as a black female single mother in a sport that typically caters to people who look like her (Gaia Galanos), you follow? Furthermore, Misty & myself understands that she would undoubtedly receive unrelenting harassment and abuse directly from the GCC fan base and MMA pond beyond simply for being a loyal friend & training partner to Ms. DeMeans which is absolutely repulsive. We call this guilty by association and trust me as the CEO of DeMeanor INC with my sort of client list I am all too familiar with being charged with accessory to a murder wherein nobody even died. Next question.
Q) Tyler Stevens you are a very likable guy but one could assume you are stepping into hostile territory on May 28th against a Canadian fighter Mark Addison who trains at the famous HILITE FC gym in Toronto, Ontario. Have you ever been booed before during a fight and how do you plan to tune out all the negative feedback?
Tyler Stevens: Well good buddy those people have a right to cheer or boo whoever they want. That's okay though, I understand. I just hope to win their respect and admiration by performing good and putting on one helluva fight with Mark Addison. Hell if Rocky Balboa in Rocky 4 can make a booing crowd cheer for him, then why can't I? Heh Heh
Q) Mr. Carver, you are best known as a cast member on the first season of the Global Ultimate Fighter despite an early exit. With a 2-0 record in the GCC professionally, do you feel that you're being overlooked in the lightweight division due to your short run on GUF?
Carson Carver: Yeah for sure dude. I'm not going to sit here and pretend like I would have done anything different though, the show was my way of getting put onto the GCC in the first place. I bet Arius has been dealing with the same type of shit so it just is what it is. To me, I see this as my breakout fight. I beat this dude and I don't have to worry about the prelims. This shit is symbolic to me. By beating Arius, my GUF castmate I can finally move past being just another GUF guy around here. I'm bigger than the show and I am bigger than anyone who was on it and when it's all said and done, you will put some respect on my name.
Q) Misty, with GCC 20 being held in Toronto, Ontario you're expected to have overwhelming crowd support for the first time in your career largely in part due to HILITE FC being a staple of MMA in Canada. From having the first fight with Gaia with no crowd due to COVID to now possibly being cheered for the first time, do you think this is something that's going to be weird to adjust too on fight night?
Misty DeMeans: Nah, there ain't much difference during a fight with or without a crowd to me cause I am so locked in when I step into the cage. Real talk though, the fanfare is much more fun to experience before and after the fights though so fighting in Toronto infront of some of my peoples is going to be cool as fuck. I think its going to have a bigger impact on Gaia then it does me because she ain't used to that type of smoke, she ain't ever been spit on or had shit thrown at her as she walks out from under the tunnel to a chorus of boos - that's some shit I wouldn't normally wish on my worst enemy but fuck it, I toally hope it happens to her. This girl man she prides herself on being Khan's special little chosen one so unless we hit up NYC for the third or she goes heel like Hulk Hogan during her next pro wrasslin' match, I doubt we'll ever see a crowd with big enough balls to stick it to Gaga ever again.
Q) Thank you, I also have the same question for Gaia Galanos.
Gaia Galanos: Look, as much as I love my fans, I am out there to fight, not be Miss Universe. If they cheer, they cheer. If they boo, they boo. I'm a professional, and I have been in hostile atmospheres before. Most fight fans, once you get past entrances, are just looking for a great fight anyway. And, if not... I guess those fans are going to be sorely disappointed at the end of the night.
Q) Misty DeMeans What do you think of Gaia Galanos as an opponent and as a mixed martial artist? Do you think this second fight will be more challenging than the first?
Misty DeMeans: I respect her as a mixed martial artist, always have. Real talk, if I wasn't around I think she would be the best person in the division to rep the GCC. She works hard and she does her own little thing to sell the fight, can't really ask for more when they ain't Misty. She wasn't my toughest fight, I don't think I ever even had one to be honest but she the biggest win on my resume so I think that counts for something. Whether or not this fight will be more challenging then the first really ain't up to me cause I have already put in the work to end her night as quickly as its going to begin so really survival is all on her. That said, I believe imma finish her quicker than I did the first fight.
Q) Rupika Khan , Miss Khan it's been reported that you have recently sought the help of sports psychologist through the GCC and that you have been working with them since your victory over Kylie Moore. Is there any truth to this?
Rupika Khan: Sigh. Well since you guys insist on asking me these personal questions the short of it is... YES. YES, I have hired a sports psychologist. Do you want me to send you guys my medical records too? JEEZ! You people are vultures. You people are so damn disgusting! You LOVE to chew us up and spit us out later whenever it benefits you the least or the most and even the bosses granddaughter isn't immune from your bullshit! Well, guess what? I am human and I have my own problems to deal with and I need all the help I can get!
Q) Clive Hicks Your last loss was against the former Middleweight Champion Tim McCarthy in a one sided affair. With Paul Rossi being the new champion and having dominated Tim McCarthy in a similar fashion over the span of five rounds - do you have any concerns or doubts as to your odds in a title fight?
Clive Hicks: Clive ain't worried about getting his ass kicked by the guy who kicked the other guy who kicked Clive's ass! Yur boy is a goddamned true American which means there ain't an ounce of quit in Clive! Misty always tells yur boy about how them TW Wombats love to use their little MMAmaths and cute little equations but Clive is a rabid honey badger, he just doesn't give a fuck! Plus+, -minus the fact yur boy was never that good at math in the first place Clive ain't going to spend any time worrying about his odds or time tables against Paul Rossi!
Q) Hi, Tyler. We know that your more than just a fighter, we have heard your a huge fan of the sport and GCC in general. Is there any other fight on the card besides your own that your particularly looking forward to watching at GCC 20?
Tyler Stevens: Yes sir I do. I got a lot of buddies fighting tomorrow. I hadn't seen my friend Leah here tonight though, Leah Wilkins…have y'all seen her? -Tyler waits a moment, but gets no reactions- Well all right then. I want to see my buddy Rupika and Jessica House throw down. If she can beat Jessica Boy the sky is the limit. Yall also need to keep an eye on my friend over there Emiliano Martinez. He's crazy as hell y'all.
Q) Emiliano Martinez You will be fighting out of The House of Khan camp in your debut GCC fight. How long have you been training at HOK and what were some of the driving factors that made you want to train there over some of the other top MMA gyms available?
Emiliano Martinez: I have been training there for a while man. It's probably been about 9 months bruh. See I turn back in Columbia too, but I worked on boxing and jiu jitsu separately. At HoK they're teaching me how to put it together. When I decided to transition into mixed martial arts I was looking at a couple of gyms, you have that gym in Thailand called Lone Wolf MMA, I almost went there, and I was looking at a gym in Greece, but I watch a girl named Alexia Amauri from Columbia too, and she kicks ass! I said I got to go train with her, so that was my driving force behind going to House of Khan. Plus who doesn't want to get on a good graces and inside with the Khan's?
Q) Nathanya Dekker On social media there have been several interactions between Misty DeMeans and Leah Wilkins in the past culminating in Leah Wilkins challenging Misty to a fight at BW. My question is, how much of that bad blood do you think will translate to this fight between Wilkins and Jackson?
Nathanya Dekker: Tekeyah Jackson is not here to fight anyone elses battle but her own. The idea that Leah Wilkins would ever get a fight against Misty DeMeans in any circumstance makes her p4p #1 delusional but kids say the darnest things, yeah? Tekeyah feels that this was a suitable fight for her given her position in the bantamweight division rankings and is looking forward to dispatching this Supreme MMA leftover within the first round. We felt that this fight would allow her the quickest turn around time while giving us the best returns from a victory. Cinzia Rossi, Anastasia Ivanovich, Sunni Khan even the former champ Osira Themis are all viable victims for Tekeyah Jackson moving forward and we're looking forward to having those discussions with Mr. Khan in the near future.
Q) Rupika Khan I am just going to rattle off a few names here. Misty DeMeans, Juanita Sanchez and Gaia Galanos just to name a few. You have fought the who's who in the GCC division and now look to add Jessica House to that elite list. What does winning this fight mean to you after having some of the most contentious bouts against the top fighters in the division for so long?
Rupika Khan: Gee, thanks for reminding me. As you ALL are well aware, I lost all those fights against everyone you just named. For so long I have tried to justify my shortcomings by reminding you about how I was the first fighter to take Misty DeMeans down in a fight and push her into a championship round. Or how about the time, I took the best wrestler in the division down in Juanita Sanchez in the fight and outgrappled her up until the point I was submitted. Oh, I got one! The time I was beating Gaia Galanos Galanos in a fight right up until the point I got my ass kicked and lost! I've had to take a long look in the mirror and realize that something just isn't right with me... the Khan's, we're successful people. We excel at EVERYTHING and ANYTHING we do - so why am I not? Am I not a KHAN? Was I adopted!? Wait! Grandpapa, am I adopted!? Sigh. Sorry guys, look to answer your question directly a win over Jessica House would mean a big fucking deal for my career.
Q) Hey, Eoin O'Rourke your younger half brother Eric Libby is looking to make a name for himself in the lightweight division. What sort of advice do you give him before some of his fights and is there anyone you would like to see him fight next as he looks to find his footing in the lightweight division? Thank you kind, sir.
Eoin O'Rourke: Advice to the little lad? Don't let the nerves get to him. I'm sure everyone's noticed that he's a shy, quiet and hates having the spotlight on him. I tell him every week, the sooner he beats his opponent, the sooner he can go home and relax. The lad needs to make a living, and not smoke pot everyday, in fact some TW Combat interns call him "Brother Weed". Its a dumb name. As for who I'd think would be the worthwhile fight next for him? The Themis of the Lightweight, Aristo or something. Sure it looks like a mismatch to both, ones a kick boxing striker who can't clinch, the other a clinch master who can't throw a punch, but to me, thats a beautiful fight. It'll be a nice teaching lesson to Eric that he can't just kick. Sure, to me I'd like to see it on a PPV, I'd pay to watch it as would me wife Elizabeth Devereaux, but you're the one who books the shows Mr. Khan. I won't tell you when and where, thats what you do to us. Not the other way around.
Q) Hey, Carson. Your opponent Arius Pagonis was on the rival team during GUF season 1, how do you feel about your fellow cast mate and has your opinion of him changed since you were on the show?
Carson Carver: Yes and no dude, it's a tough question. Arius was a mean son of a bitch on the show, I rarely ever interacted with him especially since he was one of Jack Nation's guys but he definitely had a fire about him. Now? I don't know what the fuck is going on at his gym man but their fighters have looked like shit recently and I bet that's going to impact him and his career negatively but that shits on them. Unlike Arius, I've had to actually work hard to get a spot on a GCC card so you can be damn sure I am going to continue to make the most of it regardless of how I failed to perform when I was being coached by Paul Rossi.
Q) Clive Hicks in the past you have made disparaging remarks about several other countries including Canada, a country in which you have now trained in for a few years. I was wondering if your opinions have since changed about the Canadians and if you're as excited as your teammates are to fight in Canada?
Clive Hicks: Yur boy must' admit he has developed a bit of a soft spot for these Canucks and a new level of respect for them after Timmy McCarthy kicked Clives ass real bad! Like any little brother sometimes you just gotta grab him by the neck and givem a good ol' nuggie til it hurts, the canucks really ain't so bad after-all! Clive still doesn't understand how they don't have a President, sounds like anarchy but not every country can live up to the standards AMERICA has set for the rest of the world. Yur boy Clive is treating this match up against Kenny like he does any other cause it doesn't matter where Clive goes in the world, he is always going to stand up for the AMERICAN national anthem! Clive truly will be happy when Shazir Khan takes the show on the road to the greatest country on earth but Clive is a patient man and understands Khan probably wants to save the best country for last! USA! USA! USA!
Q) Emiliano Martinez have you heard any of the rumors about Aristophanes Themis recently? Reports are coming out that he has been seen bar hopping in Greece mingling with the local women instead of focusing in on training for his fight with you. If any of this is true, how do you feel about this?
Emiliano Martinez: I haven't paid attention to him. I do my own thing. I train with my friends, and I live my life. Other than watching scouting videos I don't care about their personal lives, or anything that they do outside of the cage or the gym. What I care about is if they show up on fight night ready to bang, and we have the best fight possible, cause the fans paid big money to see us, and I want them to leave happy and ready to come back for more. So I'll work hard and I'll sweat and bleed outside of the cage, so I can be entertaining and fuck my opponent up inside the cage and give the fans more than their money's worth.
Q) Hey, Tyler. In the span of your four fight career you have found yourself at two different fight camps. After initially starting at TundraMMA you moved to The House of Khan. How has the transition to The House of Khan been and what is the biggest difference between the two camps in your opinion?
Tyler Stevens: Hah hah let me correct you there my friend it's been five fights. Back in this promotion called Supreme MMA I fought a man named Leon Young. You guys may have heard of him? *Tyler looks around for clarification* ,but you were asking about my gyms? Well see there were a few guys I was working with in Tundra MMA. My main training partner was a man named Ross Hanson. Well he had a little boy and he had to retire from the sport, and unfortunately after that the Cleveland gym wasn't so good as it used to be so I started looking around, and I was going to look at a few other places, but when I was in Abu Dhabi I found what I was looking for. Great people, great coaching, and one hell of a good gym. I also trained with Jessica House over at splatterhouse MMA in Nevada for a little bit, but it shut down.
Q) Clive Hicks HILITE FC may have a big night in store for the hometown fans in Toronto, what do you think of your teammate Mark Addison's chances in his bout with Tyler Stevens? And how do you think your headcoach Misty DeMeans will fare in her third title defense against the former Women's Featherweight champ?
Clive Hicks: Yur boy Clive hasn't seen Marky Mark for weeks now, he ain't training with us at HILITE FC anymore! As for Misty DeMeans yur boy already knows exactly what to expect! Misty is going to send that ex-pat back to the Ruskies like the traitorous dirty little commie she is! Booyah, USA all day baybay!
Q) Misty over the past few years we have seen a high turnover rate of MMA fighters that have come through the HILITE FC doors, as a head coach why do you think that is and has any of these high stress situations effected any of your training camps?
Misty DeMeans: Bruh, the problem is we get these kids who walk into the gym thinking their going to be the next Misty. I fold at least one kid a week who walks into HILITE FC thinking their ready to fight in the GCC or someshit and they think getting one over on me is going to get them some clout. Even these guys that get through the door initally like Mark Addison and Colin Downes, they just crumble under the pressure and fold when it's time to take the next step up. Real niggas is a dying beed out here, man. Shit's sad. I ain't let none of it distract me but at the same time I need to keep the circle around me tight in a positive energy feedback loop or ya'll just gonna fuck up the whole vibe. A month out from a fight, I don't give a fuck about what you got going on - I'm focused on me, myself and I so if you ain't with it, step aside and get the fuck out of my way. That's how I see it.
Q) Rupika Khan with your recent struggles being made public, how have your teammates and family members reacted to it at The House of Khan. Have they been supportive and if so, how much has it helped you get back onto the right path?
Rupika Khan: Unlike you people in he media, my family and teammates have respected my space and let me know that I have an ear as long as I need it! The House of Khan isn't group therapy, it's a place where some of the best fighters in the world come to train and be the best versions of themselves. What sort of self centered brat do you think I am!? I would NEVER bring my personal problems around them or cause unnecessary distractions to my teammates! They have been everything I could ask for and then some by being there and doing their job, I had a very positive training camp and I think it will show in full against Jessica House.
Q) Hi, Ms. Dekker. This is a big card and with it being headlined by Tekeyah Jackson's mentor Misty DeMeans does Tekeyah Jackson feel any extra pressure? Are there any concerns that she might not be able to live up to the expectations of HILITE FC and Misty DeMeans?
Nathanya Dekker: See you media people are extremely problematic and then you wonder why fighters like Tekeyah Jackson doesn't want to speak with you people! A question was just asked earlier to Clive Hicks about Mark Addison and Misty DeMeans - yeah? You just left out Tekeyah Jackson not even remembering she is a member of HILITE FC. Clive Hicks? He trains with her in the same gym and not even HE noticed you slighted her like that but then again he is Clive Hicks, he has an excuse. Look my point is Tekeyah Jackson needs to start being treated with the respect she deserves rather than just an afterthought or a conduit into prying into what Clive Hicks thinks of politics or what Misty Demeans has eaten for lunch! Next time maybe we could get at least ONE question directly directed at my client, Tekeyah Jackson. Thank you, I have nothing more to say.
Q) Question for Mr. Carver, if you were to defeat Arius Pagonis tomorrow night who would you want to fight next?
Carson Carver: Shit, since we are on this Global Ultimate Fighter reunion tip let me see Sanit Klahan real quick. He was the top guy on that show and even went on to win the GCC lightweight championship. I know Rob Jones bitch ass has been calling him out but let that man fight someone who he hasn't knocked out already.
Q) Eoin you mentioned earlier that you would like a big fight against one of the top contenders before setting your sights on the Heavyweight Championship which implies that you have some level of respect for the current champion, Alejandro Rivera . What do you think of Alejandro Rivera as a champion and do you think he'll still be the guy by the time you work your way up to a title fight?
Eoin O'Rourke: Rivera? Sure I respect him. He did us all a favor by bringing that donkey Baranov back to Earth and that he's nothing but a sham. To say I like him though? No, far from it. He's the champion of my division, and the reason I'm not gunning for him yet, is because I know I am the best in the Heavyweight division. But nobody else knows it. And that bothers me, every day, I'm snubbed over for the other hot thing. I'm over here, on nuclear levels ready to explode on the GCC Press, but I'm ignored over others. So I set myself to prove to not only you, Mr. Khan, but to everyone that I can, and I will, beat the best of the Heavyweights just to prove that this Irish fella is the very BEST! But do I think Rivera will be there by the time I get the title fight? ...I'll put it like this sir, I don't care if he is. One way or another I will face El Pantera whether or not he's the champion. Right now, he holds the belt I desire, so he's my main target. If he loses it by the time I get to him, he's not the main target anymore, but still a prime target. When I get the chance to take him down, I will. Just like I will to Zulu, when I get in that cage.
Q) Gaia Galanos We know that you're very confident heading into your championship fight but have you thought about what is next for you if you fall short tomorrow night? Is there anyone you would like to fight or possibly defend your title against in the GCC before you retire?
Gaia Galanos: No, I haven’t because first thing’s first: I have to beat Misty. I have another loss that I would like to avenge, but I need to take it one step at a time. After she's been dealt with and I'm featherweight champion again, I can focus on other goals.
Q) Last question for Misty... have you thought about what life will be like if you lose tomorrow night against Gaia Galanos?
Misty DeMeans: Nah, you trippin. I don't sit around thinking about that what if, shit. I don't plan on what imma going to do or what imma say in case I lose a fight, that shit is a straight loser mentality. I don't think about losing, I don't know what it is. I ask my opponents those type of questions cause I can't relate. I haven't been there and don't plan on going anytime soon. Yeah, it's a possibility, 10-0 it's always been a possibility but if you don't like those odds, stay out of Vegas you dummy. I'm money. I'm the safe bet. Ya'll talk and make bold predictions but gun to your head, you know damn well you ain't predicting Gaia Galanos wins this fight. I'm thinking about what I am going to do after I win, I beat Gaia Galanos and I'm asking Fazan Khan what the fuck is next. I'm looking at Sammie Ward like what the fuck is losing another 10 pounds like? Losing, nah fuck you don't ask me about losing bruh when all I ever done was win.
Fazan Khan: That looks like it's going to be it. Thank you to everyone for being apart of this press conference event and we'll see you all at the fights tomorrow night.
