The following events in this thread occur on August, 6th 2020 so no references or statements should be made on social media regarding this event until August 6th 2020. Due to COVID-19 the press conference will be held via ZOOM.
On Tim McCarthy
''The guy is a beast. I mean to go out there and do that to a guy like Sigurd Bjarnasson is a pretty big deal, no doubt Tim McCarthy is one of the top contenders in the division. With Ibanez scheduled to defend his title against Hicks we will have to see how that fight turns out, who wins and what shape they are in after the fight. We'll have to talk to the champion and see how quickly they are able to turn around and defend the title again and if not, we'll need to see what Tim is thinking in terms of his schedule. The guy is hungry to fight and told me he wants to get back in and do it again as soon as possible... very exciting stuff, I just don't have all the answers yet.''
On Tundra MMA's uprising
''I haven't seen anything like it. Since these guys got together they haven't lost a single fight. I know with the way the House of Khan fell out with Aleks he's had a chip on his shoulder but I cannot deny he's done amazing work out of Russia with his team. And their prospects? Their prospects coming into the GCC are looking great from what we've seen as well. I think as long as he (Aleks) can keep a solid head on his shoulders they'll do well. I wish them all the best.''
On GUF's debut on August 28th
''We are extremely excited about the debut of GUF. We got the guys about to move into the house in a bit and the fans can expect to hear a lot more about the cast members over the next few weeks in preparation for the show. We know reality television isn't anything new in of itself but the format of the show and what we're aiming to with it is something fans haven't seen in this space before and will set us apart from our competitors.''
On the return of the former featherweight champion
''Which one? Oh, Gaia. Yes, of course. Gaia Galanos is as game as ever for this fight. I know there's been a lot of chatter and rumors as of late as to where her head is at after her back to back losing skid and her social media presence being scaled back so heavily but I just think that's all just a very bad sign for Mia Stevens. Gaia Galanos is a complete mixed martial artist and I think she will remind everyone of that fact on Friday Night.
On the Co Main event
''Nika Kosov was excited when we brought the match up to her and Trixie Redd is down to fight anybody in the division at a moments notice so as you can imagine the bout came together very quickly. With Nika coming off a knockout loss to Krystal Knight I was initially cautious about offering her this match up so soon but we heard independently that this was a bout she really wanted. I have a lot of respect for Nika Kosov for wanting to get back into the cage so quickly knowing full well she's stepping into the cage with a killer like Trixie Redd. I definitely see this one being the fight of the night when it's all said and done.''
On the GCC 11 main event
''This is a rematch the MMA world has been looking forward to for a long time. Alejandro Rivera has mocked Jay Aguero over the span of several months now and I know that Aguero would love nothing more than to knock him out cold. Bad blood aside, I think winning the GCC championship means more to Jay then exacting a measure of revenge against Rivera. The best thing about a fight like this is that we get to see how both men are going to adjust and see what they've learned about each-other in the first bout. Since Alejandro Rivera won their first fight it's even more vital for Jay Aguero to make those adjustments to change up his fortune here. Whoever wins this fight; make no mistake about it, Ross Hanson has been waiting patiently in the wings. I hope you all are expecting fireworks tomorrow night my friends.''
Reporter: The next question is for Jen Rivera regarding The New Perfection's main event title shot against Alejandro Rivera. Can you comment...
Jen River immediately cuts the reporter off not allowing him to finish the statement.
Jen Rivera: I'm going to stop you right there. After careful reconsideration we will not be fielding any questions during this press call. Instead, I am utilizing this time to address what everyone has been wondering. My client has been quiet these past few months, isolating himself as he prepares for the upcoming title fight. Meanwhile, the champion continues to attempt to play mind games with my client. After much deliberation, we have prepared a statement.
Jen Rivera clears her throat as she shuffles through a set of papers. She looks into the camera and tosses the papers behind her.
Jen Rivera: You must be out of your God Damn mind if you think you can discredit my client, The New Perfection Jay Aguero. You mock my client's past opponents in effort to discredit and dishonor everything that he has fought for. Erik Johansson not a talented fighter? JaySon Francis does not warrant a title fight? My client has not ducked a single fight. Manik Mercer, Erik Johanssen and Jayson Francis were all fights brought to my client in which he freely accepted. The truth of the matter is, despite what the champion feels the route my client has taken to get to his title shot as less than worthy, the rankings don't lie. If the champ thinks my client is beneath him well then we are already set to see a new champion crowned at GCC 11. When my client enters the cage at GCC 11, the champ won't know what to do with himself. He's going to rely on old tactics that got him to this point. He's dead set that he broke down the machine in their previous fight. The champ could be more wrong. No matter how hard he tried to break down my client, my client lasted the entire fight against his opponent. The only way the champ is walking out of GCC 11 with the belt is if this goes to a decision and... well... even then I wouldn't put my money on the champ retain regardless of however many rounds this goes. See you soon, Alejandro.
With that, Jen Rivera ends her feed of the Zoom call.
