After Global Fight Night 14 went off air, the hustle-bustle of the show wasn’t quite over as the post-show started. Right out of the gates, Sean Alexander was standing with Gaia Galanos, who was in fact seated. Galanos was still dressed in her fight gear and still showed the battle scars from her encounter with the world class striker, Sassy Vega. The cut under Galanos’ eye had a temporary fix of the normal bit of Vaseline covering the wound to seal it. As for her leg, that’s why she was seated. The former featherweight champion was icing a seemingly swollen and bruised leg. Despite this, Galanos has a fairly content look on her face.
Sean Alexander: Gaia, that match between yourself and Sassy Vega could have made an argument for Fight of the Night. It was fantastic. And you took Vega down with two HUGE slams, you were able to go toe-to-toe with her on your feet. Tell me though was the plan to finish her with the kimura?
Gaia Galanos: No, the plan was to slam her and rain down fists. I saw an opportunity so I attempted to tap her. She defended it well, but I was able to pass her on the ground and put her away with the Ground and Pound.
Sean Alexander: And that is one of the most feared Ground and Pound games in all of MMA. Prior to walking into this fight, you were actually the underdog. Some speculate that Vega was going to beat you in much the same way Alexia Amauri did a few months ago. Do you have anything to say about your critics and their predictions?
Gaia Galanos: As I said before fight, it doesn’t matter to me what the “experts” say or what anyone else says. When I am scheduled to fight, there will be war in the octagon. More often than not, I have emerged victorious. I am one of the very best GCC has to offer, man or woman. With that said, it just feels good to win.
A small smile formed on Gaia’s face through all of the bruises and dried blood on her face.
Sean Alexander: Well, you’re looking pretty good with a 5-2 record. The 2-fight win-streak should see you into the Top 5 Rankings in my opinion, but we’ll see how that turns out with the latest polls. You’re still one of the biggest draws in GCC, and it’s no secret that thanks to that skill in the octagon, you get paid and tonight is no different despite receiving no Performance of the Night. You and Vega fought hard and got violent. Now, I have to ask the question that’s on everyone’s mind. After this victory, how do you see yourself moving forward after you take some time to heal up? I think it’s fairly obvious you want that fight against Rupika, but will it happen?
Gaia Galanos: It better happen. Rupika shot her mouth off over social media about Sassy Vega beating Mila Sauvage in an attempt to belittle my reign as featherweight champion. Rupika was basically using Vega as a wall. Well, guess what, Rupi! I just knocked that wall down. You sit around all year and complain about not being put into a fight here or not being given an opportunity at the featherweight championship, well this is your big chance, Princess. So after I’m done healing, I’ll see you in the octagon. It’s time to quit running and tell Grandpapa to make the fight so I can teach you lesson.
Sean Alexander: Hopefully that’s a fight we all have to look forward to. You fought valiantly out there tonight and came away with a hard fought finish, now all there is to do is celebrate until your next fight. Enjoy yourself and thank you for your time.
Alexander sent the show back to a set of hosts who continued the post-show as the interview came to an end.
